The drama performance

Tomorrow is the drama performance of the period of this semester(戲劇概論期末公演). There will be three different types of drama played and all the plays were written by ourselves.
Today I am going to share the experience of preparing for a drama. At the beginning of this semester, my classmates and I were divided into three groups; each groups for one play. This is a class that everyone can select, so there are many seniors or even people from other department in our group. After we grouped up, we started to assign jobs, ex: actor, actress, director and so on by volunteering. I volunteered to be a director; it was a brave decision for me. At first, I often wondered whether this decision was right or wrong since I was just a freshman. Fearing to anger the seniors,I was afraid to communicate with them or ask them to do something. Therefore, there were some works delayed and misunderstanding; we were all a little bit unhappy and frustrated. The scriptwriter even once told someone else that she thought the director, me, didn't fully understand the script. That was really a blow for me because I worked very hard and spent a lot of time on this play but ended up doing the whole thing wrong. I have to admitted that I even wanted to quit this job. However, I couldn't just leave everting behind; that was irresponsible!  So I tried to figure out what the problem was and determined to accomplish this mission. I guessed the scriptwriter didn't meant to hurt anyone; she just hoped the play could be perfect like everyone else, so there was no need to struggle with the words she said. After that, I know that communication is really important for team work. All of us finally reach the balance and practicing for the play become a wonderful thing for me. Now, I like my working partners a lot and really enjoy spending a lot of time and effort on this play.
Watching the play being performed on the stage means a lot for me. I am now very nervous and hope everything will be smooth and fine tomorrow.

Here is a picture from our play.

A joyful Christmas party of our own

Christmas is coming soon. Two parties are both held today. One is the ball which is united with National Taiwan University, the other is a small party of our own department. I go to our own party instead of the grand ball because I am really not a dancing person. (Actually, I am also very afraid of "clubs"!!! Shame on me, haha.) Our party take part in a restaurant located at 貓空. (I suggest students in 政大 should all go to貓空 at night at least once because the night scene there is just stunning. You can have a cup of tea while enjoying the starry sky.) It's much more comfortable to join our own party. We have some delicious food, exchange presents with each other and play games. I was also assigned to film a music video which would be played on the party. I chose to film the song "Sing in the rain". It was a classic  opera in 1952. I ask a friend of mine to jump into the fountain in the music video. And, we filmed that just a few days before. As we all know, the weather was freezing!
Here is the link of the video.

As for the present I bought to exchange with others, I bought a picture book named " There is nothing for you" (沒有東西送給你). It's a story about someone want to buy his friend a present. However, his friend told him that he wanted nothing. Therefore, he really put "nothing" in a box and gave it to his friend. Both of them were happy and still enjoyed "nothing". The main idea of this story is to tell people  that it doesn't matter  what you give; it is the sincerity that matters. Hope the one who got my present could understand that.

The chorus competition

December, the month of Christmas, come so quickly that I am even not ready for that. Time really past fast in college. I guess it's because we have so many interesting activities to participate in. And I love it!!!
After we had 包種茶節 at the beginning of November, we had a chorus competition last Saturday. Our department won the sixth place, and we were all very happy for that, though we weren't the best or even the second. Because we are a department of a few people, winning the sixth place is good enough. Recalling the days we spent practicing, I must said it wasn't joyful at first. Actually, it was really a mess. There were some arguments and misunderstanding between us. A week before the competition, when we were dressing rehearsal in 四維堂, we still suck!! I was so upset and hopeless. However, we progressed rapidly and magically just before the competition! When we practice for the last time before we stood on the stage, I almost burst into tears. I found out that I didn't want all of this ended so quickly because after the contest, we  wont stay together all night long. This activity, and包種茶節, really make us closer, and I happy for that from the deep of my heart.
And I got to say, college of communication rocks!!!!!!!!! The department of radio & television won the fist place, the department of journalism won the second place, and the department of advertising won 最佳舞台呈現獎! Congratulations!! Although I am still a little bit sad that we didn't get the最佳舞台呈現獎, the costumes really were amazing.
Well, the most important point is that we all had a wonderful time, right?

A Great Experience Working with Journalism's Boys

This Tuesday I had an important presentation on my class"Communication and Society". We had to prepare a presentation for the the class for 90 minutes and our subject was"Talk show and Oprah". My friends and I teamed up with four boys major in journalism. At first, I was very afraid that we could't make it because it was a difficult subject to talk about and we had to cooperate with people we didn't know very well. However, after days of teamwork, we got closer to each other and became very good friends. Also, this opportunity give me a chance to know more about the department of Journalism. Now I had a very good impression on them. I think that they have many good ideas and are very responsible. In the end, we made a good presentation and we also had a lot of fun. I am glad that I made some good friends through this cooperation.

The department fair

Last Saturday was the department fair, and I have to say that I learn a lot from this activity. I have heard of this event before entering Chengchi university and I knew that this is a grand event for all the students. Before the fair, our department spent two to three weeks preparing for this event. Although I live home in stead of dormitory, I still took part in the preparation every single night and went home late. The process was very tiring but I don't regret doing this. Because during this time, I spent a lot of time with my classmates and so we got closer.
On that day, all of us tried our best to drew the high school's students attention. We did some funny dance moves, called loudly and kept our smiles on our faces. In the end, our department won two award. One for our poster and another for our popularity(人氣獎). I was so joyful and so proud of us. But I think that it doesn't matter if we won the award or not, what's more important is that we all have a wonderful experience.   Now, I am looking forward to the fair next year.

A Complicated Experience Of Camp

Last weekend I went camping in Yilan with my department. Actually, it was quite a complicated experience. But I guess ''most of us'' enjoyed this trip. It was almost eight and a half when we arrived in Yilan the first day. We did some warm up activities and then the seniors started telling us some scary ghost stories. Later on, the seniors divided us in groups; each for two people, and made us walked in the dark creepy campus where our camp took place in. When waiting for my turn to go, I was so nervous to speechless. Suddenly, my friend crippled in and I heard the senior said,''Call 119!'' He was bitten by a snake. My nervousness turned into worry all at once. Fortunately, he was quickly sent to the hospital and the doctor said he would be fine after taking rest. As for my experience of the walk? It was ridiculous!! I was so scared that I kept screaming and struggling and ended up tumbling in the bathroom. There was no doubt that it was a heavy wrestle. And now I have bruises all over the right side of my body.

My Third Week in College

This is my third week in college. All I can say is that; although we seem to have more free time than before, we also have much more things to do! Receiving a variety of information of clubs, exhibitions and so on, I find out that I can no longer do everything in the same term. Well, I guess I really need to make good use of my time and learn to analyze what kind of activity is beneficial.
By the way, our department is going on a camp on this weekend. I am so excited that I even had a dream about it a few days ago. I dreamed that our camp took place at an old warehouse. What's worse, I forgot to bring my sleeping bag!! Not knowing what to do, I called my dad and asked him if he could bring me my stuff, but he rejected my request because he was dating. There is a saying that dreams are opposite to reality. Hope that is true cause I expect a wonderful trip.
